Dear Toni,

The First Heaven Sequence of trigram arrangement is usually used for such
purposes or as talisman.

This trigram arrangement is `picture perfect' in that the opposite trigram
shows a relationship to each other. So you have: Heaven to Earth; Wind to
Thunder; Water to Fire; Mountain to Lake. Because it is picture perfect, it
is used as a bagua mirror.
You can also say that this is a static trigram.

The second trigram which was later developed by King Wen, is called the
Later Heaven Trigram and yes, it is used for the "living".

Here, maybe you would like to know that while the Later Heaven Trigram is
used for the living, as I mentioned above, because the First Heaven Sequence
Trigram is for the "dead", as it is again `picture perfect'. What better way
to `scare' the dead using it instead of the Later Heaven Trigram.

Maybe you would like to review this short article I wrote. Please click this

Maybe, you may also want to `re-read' what Lillian Too wrote because, I
believe, she would be writing/saying the same thing.

Warmest Regards,
Cecil

>I understand from reading Lillian Too's books that the pakua of the former
heaven sequence is Yin (for the dead) and she cautions against using this
pakua above your door. She says the later heaven sequence should be placed
above the door, because it signifies yang (for the living.) Could you
clarify for me, since you seem to indicate that the former heaven sequence
is used above one's door?
